I’ll Be Leaving

Standing at you door
I can’t bring my hand to knock
I know it’ll be trouble
but my legs won’t let me walk

If I leave tonight
come morning I’ll return
any chance to get away
is one that I would turn

You look out from your window
and wave me in
no chance to turn away now
and my hard time begins

I’ll be leaving
in a day or a week
just as soon as I can
I’ll be leaving
so please don’t speak
and make me stay again

The cold of Feb. brought me to your door
now June calls me down the road
but I couldn’t just walk away
with out telling you I’m going

So here I stand at your back door
maybe hoping to be seen
you did and called out sweetly
come on in for the evening

I’ll be leaving….

My words destroy your fragile heart
but with time you’ll grow and live
